Royal Lane: Bye Bye House
The demolition of the existing house at our new project has begun. The process will take about three days total. A huge Cat first knocks a great hole in a side wall and then begins pulling all the outer walls to the inside. The massive machine drives over and over the materials grinding them into small pieces while another man sprays the piles down to control the dust. 18 wheeler dump trucks are then loaded to take away to debris to a landfill 30 miles away. The process of tearing down the house is fast and quite simple. The removal of the slab foundation and the driveways is much more time consuming. The pool will also be removed.

Spicewood Texas Renovation: 85% Complete
There is still a lot of custom case pieces coming (as the tv trays and boxes clearly show) as well as art, pillows, accessories and sculpture bases, but the basics are in place. Draperies have yet to be decided upon for the bedrooms. But here is a sneak peek at the progress.
Spicewood Texas Renovation: Update
Last week the wood floor finishers were here to sand, stain and finish the 5" Hickory planks that are in many areas of the house. The sun had faded the old floors badly.
The walls are still wet around the bottom and the floor still requires a penetrating and topical matte sealer, but you can sure see how much lighter and brighter the stone is.
